- Dirk Hartog Added June 15, 2018★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆Bought both hamburgers and the fish and chips. To be honest it was disappointing after the high reviews. If you are expecting a good fish and chip shop from 30-40 years ago, you will probably enjoy the food. However, if you were expecting a more modern standard such as one of the better/well known takeaways from Sydney, (or Melbourne or Brisbane) you may be disappointed. The hamburger meat was a little dry and the fish was not juicy, although I would not call it dry either - so the food was OK for a takeaway fish and chip shop but I would not call it a great takeaway compared to what you can find, say, near Bronte beach in Sydney. Positives were that servings were large and service was friendly. Expect old fashion standards and you'll be fine.
